I'm honored to have co-curated this exhibit. 20 artists from Illinois, Missouri and Texas exhibiting 33 pieces of beautiful art that celebrates black culture, past, present and future.
I've always known drawing would be my niche, from the age of 5 as a matter of fact, when my teacher chastised me for coloring outside the lines. I am self-taught and the need to do it my way is still important to how I do what I do.
All of my work is created in either graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, pen, markers or a combination of some or all.
Life has always been my creative muse. There is so much that surrounds us daily that we either take for granted or completely miss. The simplicity of the love of, and for, life is what continually moves me to create.
